NHS Scotland is under no obligation to provide any aftercare other than emergency care.
In addition Kessington Medical Centre is a GP practice and not a specialist service.
We will not be able to do the routine specialist monitoring and aftercare that is required after many procedures including bariatic surgery. In addition NHS referrals to specialist services for follow up after private surgery abroad are declined by the services.
It is vital that if you do go abroad for private surgery without NHS referral that you have arranged adequate private aftercare as this will not be available on the NHS in Scotland unless in a clinical emergency.
