Where will I get my Vaccination?
Due to these unprecedented times it has been agreed throughout Scotland that GP practices will struggle to safely vaccinate the increased numbers of patients getting flu vaccinations while following Covid-19 precautions for the safety of patients and staff.
In Glasgow it has been agreed that all children and all over 64 year old patients will be vaccinated by the Health Board/HSCP. GP practices have been asked to consider if their buildings are suitable to be able to vaccinate the at risk 18-64 year olds. Having risk assessed our building we don’t think we could safely run a flu immunisation clinic from within while still seeing our normal patients and keeping patients sufficiently distanced. The practice has therefore organised with the HSCP to use the same facilities as the HSCP for vaccinating the over 65s and our staff will be assisting the HSCP to vaccinate patients in the area.
The HSCP has secured the use of Milngavie Town Hall to vaccinate patients in the Bearsden and Milngavie area. Milngavie Town Hall is right opposite Milngavie Train Station. Nearby car parks include the Station car park as well as Tesco car park.
How do I book my appointment?
If you will be over 65 (by 31st march 2021)
You will be sent an individual letter with a date and time. It is important you attend on this date and time (unless you are symptomatic of Covid-19, quarantining or self isolating when it is vital you do not attend). These letters are being sent nationally and unfortnately the practice has no ability to influence them. We have been instructed not to give flu vaccinations opportunistically and won't have any stock.
If you need to change your appointment please call 0141 201 4180. Alternatively you can email firstname.lastname@example.org making sure you give your full name, Date of birth, Original appointment details (including date and venue), whether you are asking for a new appointment, and your mobile number (to allow you to get your new appointment by text).
If you are between 18 and 65 and in an at risk category
We are being allocated slots on Mondays and Fridays at Milngavie Town Hall. Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment. We hope to be able to allow patients to start booking these appointments from Friday 18th September with the first flu clinic at Milngavie Town Hall being on Friday 25th September 2020.
